Snohomish County has some of the earliest blooming flowers in all of Washington. Once again, I have pictures to share of them. Daffodils and primroses are greeting us every morning at our office in Mountlake Terrace, and large pink rhododendrons shrubs are blooming just around the corner. Camellias are making an early appearance just up the street in Edmonds. Last year, they were some of the earliest flowers I found from anywhere. Can the warmer days of spring be far behind? I think we're getting close.
My roses are getting ready for one of their best years ever, and I can't wait to see them blooming this year.
My very small vegetable garden will once again be featuring Makah-Ozette potatoes, and perhaps a few tomatoes, too.
I look forward to sharing garden favorites with you from all over the County. Plan on a wonderful 2012 garden season with me!
Visit us at the Regional Aflac office near Lynnwood, WA. Call, 360-878-3614.

Saturday, 21 January 2012 was the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Mukilteo LDS Chapel. The week's deep snow was melting just in time for the community to come and visit, eat cookies, and listen the the church's choir, and the Kamiak High School chior performing, as well. Replacing the building that had stood for 18 years, the new chapel was ready for use just 14 months after the arson fire destroyed the brick and wood structure.
Pivotal-Alliance.com, with my husband Phil Mayer and our daughter, Kathleen, installed the beautiful new doors found all around the building. Kathleen was really proud of being able to work with her Dad on the new chapel, too.
While the two wards, Harbour Point and Beverly Park, were displaced by the fire, their congregations were temporarily housed in the Everett and Lynnwood LDS buildings.
Several local churches and the City of Mukilteo also immediately stepped forward to offer space as well, and their friendship and support will be remembered always.
