LDS Chapel Open House

New Mukilteo LDS Chapel Saturday, 21 January 2012 was the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Mukilteo LDS Chapel. The week's deep snow was melting just in time for the community to come and visit, eat cookies, and listen the the church's choir, and the Kamiak High School chior performing, as well. Replacing the building that had stood for 18 years, the new chapel was ready for use just 14 months after the arson fire destroyed the brick and wood structure.

Pivotal-Alliance.com, with my husband Phil Mayer and our daughter, Kathleen, installed the beautiful new doors found all around the building. Kathleen was really proud of being able to work with her Dad on the new chapel, too.

While the two wards, Harbour Point and Beverly Park, were displaced by the fire, their congregations were temporarily housed in the Everett and Lynnwood LDS buildings.

Several local churches and the City of Mukilteo also immediately stepped forward to offer space as well, and their friendship and support will be remembered always.
